I had no plans to go into the pet store and get a new critter - I was just gonna get a heat bulb - but when I saw this little fellow/lady marked down due to being "cosmetically imperfect," my black little coal-nub of a heart melted just a bit.
(The manager told me it was "cosmetically imperfect" because its tail would not grow back. I told him, "Yes, gargoyles' tails do grow back, they just look a bit different." He kinda gave me the "lol w/e noob" look until he took the thing out of the tank and admitted, "Urrr, I guess the tail does look like it grew back more than I expected..." TOO LATE you told me I could have the discount aaaawheee)
This is Casey (named after the character in the TV show Chuck - I have a thing for grunting guys with guns - since this little gecko likes to grunt too).
Casey is still in quarantine, for another couple of months, so I only took a few shots of him/her before getting it situated. This shows some of the color-changing a gargoyle gecko can do.

Yayz for gargoyles!!! I have a two year old gargoyle myself and love him. I personally think their grunting is adorable. And I have to laugh at the pet store manager's reaction, the majority of pet stores don't know shit...I've learned that many, many times from personal experiences. In fact I had to teach a local pet store how to care for their cresteds O.o...that was interesting.
Anyway, sorry for chatting away. What a cutie you have, I know you'll enjoy him.

And yeah, I do my best just to not talk to pet store employees anymore so I don't explode in the head. I know some good ones are out there, but I haven't found 'em yet XD I got really PO'd when a local store was keeping their cresties in 90+ temps, when their own care sheets said "don't go above 80" essentially. I spoke to their "reptile supervisor" or whatever they called him and the only thing they did to "fix issues" was to put one of those crappy sticker-thermometers on the front of the tank - because those generally read 10 degrees or so off from real temp gauges. But the other thermometer in the tank still read 90+ ;___;

They were keeping them at 90+ D: That IS sad. Ya I really need to not go into pet stores anymore as well. I always find at least one animal in inadequate conditions it seems.
