Y'know, even though this is by no means an obvious ship, if you think about it enough, it would make sense. These two have enough stuff in common that it could work. Power, the desire for MORE power, high level of intellect, interest in historical artifacts and events, foreign languages, flying high-tech battleships... I feel like this is the only thing they'd invariably argue about sometimes.

About the description, their desire for power is the exact reason why they wouldn't work, at least in the long run. I honestly don't know anything about the characters, but I do know that they'd end up desiring each others power and would turn on each other given right circumstance.
That's not very sound logic. I could just as easily say they would help one another gain power and neither of us would be right or wrong. Besides, it's not as if one can just take the other's power. And even besides that, they both kinda have entirely different styles and methods of gaining their power, so it's not as if they can compete for the same exact thing. Magolor is a sorcerer and Meta Knight is a swordsman.
