"The follow up and final stage of an adult praetorian. Once a queen has fully developed, a hive is considered to be at stage II. The queen has been thoroughly bred by her selected alpha male, and will continue to lay eggs containing a culmination of his and her genetically dominant traits. Though the male is no longer living, he will be the center piece of her "throne".

The Queen is, by far, the largest, strongest, and most intelligent of the xenomorph family. Much like a xenomorphs ability to see beyond our capability, their means of communication are beyond our understanding. It has been suggested that a form of telepathy is used, as tests have shown the Queen has some sixth sense about her brood. In one example, scientists separated a drone from the queen visually, audibly, and without pheromone to communicate. When the drone's life was merely threatened, the queen showed signs of distress. When the drone was put down, the queen became much more dramatic, entering a stage of rage then depression. It was later discovered this particular drone was her "first born"."
