The few gem types that the Enqua can have.
Their gems serve as an extension of normal senses, reacting by glowing when experiencing intense emotions and a sort of "spidey sense" if there are others nearby.
The Alpha gems however are even more sensitive, to the point of being able to feel whether danger was coming sooner than the common gems, which is useful so that they could warn their pack ahead of time.
Some may be so sensitive that they can sense things that aren't physically there (i.e ghosts/spirits/etc), or even acquire extrasensory abilities (such as clairvoyance and etc), which if living in domestic situations, they might end up as companions for detectives/police and other such jobs.
Very rarely, an Alpha Enqua could inherit a telekinetic power, such as manipulation of a specific element or telekinesis in general.

The mutated gems however are fragile, and may or may not inherit any special senses at all, they pretty much have the human level of sense strength or even duller than that.
They'll have a hard time surviving in the wilds, and some packs won't even accept a mutant into the family in fear of the mutant endangering the others. So they have a better chance of living amongst humans as a companion (or a pet in some circles).

I might edit the image (or post up a new one) to differentiate further of gems that can inherit the stronger abilities but yeah.
