God damn it's been too long since I last uploaded something of my own.
So, since my last picture, MHX has come out in the east, with a distinct lack of yours truly, and a monster for me to dislike even more than seregios, that being Reizekusu.
I decided that, given the lack of azure Rathalos in MHX, and the abundance of Raizex, why not each a raizekusu or two, let them contribute to the Rathalos population a bit.
Yeah, that's supposed to be Raizex's tail. Doesn't really look it, but I don't have much of an idea what he looks like, and there's very few references of him out there, all of which seem to have different colour schemes varying from dark tan to browny-black.
Course, all that being said, could be a year or more until we see another western release of a monster hunter game.
As for the picture in question, I tried out a few new things. It was quite a few flaws, most notable the bend in the tail was really poorly executed, and the direction of the lighting incident on the scales seems to change. This picture took way too long to drew, just pulled an all-nighter to finish it.
Credit where credit's due, to:
Avezola For teaching me a few things.
ASaneMan For genuine critique.
VoreLord 's Saliva tutorial, though I didn't follow it very well.
Azure Rathalos and Raizekusu belong to Capcom, even though they seem to have forsaken the latter.

Certainly some marked improvement!
Not even I do scale-detail such as the one on Rath here.
One thing to note is those Boulders could look a lot more gnarled, unless you want to go with the sand-blasted smooth appearance. Since it looks like a desert, a lot of big rocks tend to have a sediment-layer look to em, which, could be hard to do.

ancestral steppe actually, but I did the rocks the wrong colour. I was beyond caring at that point.
