Fast forward to the future, Pawl and the gang are older now and do most of their training on their own. But because they're older they get access to any of the academy's facilities. Gao wants to take advantage of one in particular, the Healing Springs. They went when they were younger with teacher supervision, but older students get to spend time there after dark, when all the rookies have curfew. Of course, since it's adult's only during after hours at the hot springs, adult things can happen there.
