e621, TV Tropes, and some other places refer to him as "Badgegrab" after a possibly-throwaway line during a Pokémon promotion, in which he referred to himself as "Professor Badgegrab". (Just for reference, a screenshot of the line in question: http://a67.tinypic.com/1z65wdl.jpg )
Though that's probably not his actual name. The European version of the same line says "Professor Hedge", for one thing. But I use it anyway, for lack of an alternative.
