It's a while since I've depicted Ember - not since his appearance in Heritage. I'm still totally working on the comic btw, just to my own special (geological) timescale. Doesn't help that I've been distracting myself with shorter stories in the meantime... focus would be a wonderful thing.

Anyway, here we have another exercise in Not Using Black Paint. Pyrrole red, perylene green, titanium white. In hindsight both of those are cold colours and I'm not sure if maybe I should have introduced a warmer hue to make this pop a little more? but then this was kind of also an exercise with a limited palette. meh. life is hard.
