Doodle done when I didn't know what doodles to do! Decided to finish it, though perhaps not as tidily as I should have! (crooked windows, yeesh)

Gotta admit, I didn't even notice the crooked windows until you pointed it out.
Probably because though crooked, it's still clean. And it's in the background, so it's not the focus of the drawing.
Hmm... Actually, I'd argue that if you made the background perfectly straight, it'd stand out too much as looking too perfect. With it being crooked like this, it has this nice "background blur" effect without actually being blurry. The background has a little less care and detail, so you naturally pay less attention to it, mentally blurring it until you actually do pay attention. ...If that makes sense...

Well, that's good! I'm glad I accidentally managed such a thing :D I do agree though: sometimes perfectly straight lines are distracting. One of my biggest complaints with digital art is when you notice that the lines aren't natural looking! I try to avoid using anything other than "snap to line" tools for that reason, it looks a lot more natural and doesn't distract from the image! Plus, you can make more emphasis with thick lines and thin lines placed strategically!
Yep. I use Paint Tool SAI and it has two tools that can be abused. It has a line smoothener, and if you put that too high, the lines will look TOO perfectly round, making it look unnatural as you described.
The other tool is a vector line tool, if you know what that is. Essentially, you give the computer instructions on how to draw the line, and the computer then draws it for you. I don't need to tell you that this will make for an unnatural look as well, if not used right.
