Well it's like Oliver except it's more it explores a character named David in his early childhood to adulthood and all the hardship he faces with abusive step parent, a great aunt with an unfavorable view of boys and a ruthless head master at a boarding school. So really it's one of those things about overcoming the worse to find the best in people kind of story.
Great shading, coloring, and background for setting the mood I believe you are going for with this pair. It definitely has my mind curious while making me eager to FINALLY go back and read the chat log you shared of their world.
The image, to me, makes it appear as if Coal and Rust are anthropological. Is this correct? Or is my deceiving me?

Anthropomorphic? Oops! I'll have to remember the right word so I don't get any more Yoshi Egg on my face. *blush*
I think my eye is playing tricks on me since it appears Rust is Anthropomorphic to me. (My depth perception is awful and a lot of the time the only way my brain makes sense of things is if it 'thinks' it can see even if it can't)
I'll be looking forward to hearing more on these Coal and Rust. Are they a part of what you have going with Shadow Eyes?

Hmm. It will be interesting to see how their story comes to develop.
What I've enjoyed the most of your Ponies is how they really don't need to be associated with the MLP Universe. It is fun for them to be in it, but they are reliant on it for their plots, lives, etc. This is wonderful since, if an opportunity allows, you could take any of their stories, alter a few words, and make them completely unique to you.
I'm beyond impressed at your World Building talents, Ari. I've made a few worlds myself, but the way you've done it is exceptional! Especially if you were to ever make these characters exist in a world their own. You'd have a myriad of tales that take place in the same world, but at different places and/or different times. Readers could easily immerse themselves in an area, or character set, they like to form their own OCs, Fan Fictions, etc. It's quite astounding what you've built in such a short time. :)

thats the way I like it, I don't like the idea of using characters that are not my own if I put them in canon places or relate them somehow to canon characters it feels wrong only reason I use luna in vague mention and dreams is becuase I am using her less as a character and more as part of the lore of the universe.
i could alter them yes, for roleplay I do but I don't like to because I like the base lore of the mlp universe. The unicorn earth and pegasus and the cutiemarks mainly.
