This marks my first and currently sole upload to FA, a conceptual illustration of Enmbrae, the main protagonist for a transmedia work I have on the back burner until I've sorted out my other projects.

Uploading this on impulse to gauge the character's reception.

Project Safe Haven (working title) follows the adventures of Richter Todd (Enmbrae before he changes his name), an anthropomorphic fox who acquires the power to copy other animal's abilities, as he uncovered a plot to destroy his home, Wayside Star, and learns about his origins.

The setting is on an artificial satellite in orbit around the planet, populated by animals of a disparity of shapes and sizes. Species are separated into carnivore and herbivores with the former preying on the latter to survive. Enmbrae/Richter, struggles with excepting his predatory nature while keeping up the guise of civility and living up to his society's standards. All while playing his part in a war with the involvement of other animals each with his or her own unique powers.

He has two means of copying powers; the first being to scan his foes and analyze what gives them their abilities and replicate them with the help of retrogressive stem cells, the second being to eat the subject in question and cultivate his prey's cell in his body to permanently gain their abilities. The first method overrides the previously acquired ability and the other is naturally fatal to the subject. So he must choose his prey carefully. Abilities can also be ejected from his body (at will or involuntarily) after absorbing too much impact. Powers can either be reabsorbed or transferred between others in the form of orbs of light.

Enmbrae is a naive and childlike, but cunning and deceptive character whose deeply troubled. He doesn't like being a predator and wishes he had the power to heal others instead of copying their powers for himself.

More than once, Enmbrae has tried and failed to adopt a heroic persona in his escapism from his unfortunate circumstances. His inner conflict arises when he is confronted with any situation he can't simply walk away from. Such as when an innocent prey is tormented by a sadistic predator, or when he has to sate his own hunger.

Project Safe Haven will span across various media and multiple platforms, although I primarily imagine it as being a webcomic and a videogame on home console respectively. I had originally designed this character as a mix of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man; but am working on making him more distinguished and moving away from his origins as my online avatar.
