I was just thinking about a collab-cover of this song!
I just love singing it very much, and I really wanna do this. Singing is my hobby!
Maybe I could do a vocals and perhaps a piano track and you play the guitar-tracks (and maybe also some vocals or another instrument that you are able to play)
What do you think?

Sadly I'm quite busy until August 30th, although I've holydays.
I plan to buy some better recording equipment afterwards (a proper mic, a dig. mixer and a prof. recording software).
Du you want to continue our further talk about that here in the comments, or would you prefer PM, an instant messenger or sth?

Mine seems to be quite unhandy (although I've never looked into the manual for any hot keys or sth^^)
About instruments... As I said before I want to do some vocals (main- and/or background-vocals) and I could play a piano track, as well. I also own an accoustic guitar (steel strings), but I'm only able to play some accompaniment with simple chords, as yet.^^
If you want I could ask some other composers to join this collab. Maybe a violinist or a flute-player. I think that could suit this song.^^

Check out Finale for composing, it's expensive though so you'll probably have to stick with a trial version :P

But I wouls appreciate some piano accompaniment for my left hand (cuz I don't want to make it hanging around while playing the melody with the left hand ^__^)
And I think you need to seperate/arrange the instruments and submit some sheet music.

Alirght, I'll get some sheet music for it :P Then you'll be able to do stuff with both hands. I have audacity, which is not the best for mixing and stuff, but it can get the job done on an amateur level :P And yes, I'm referring to midi, but I use something to convert them and make them sound a little nicer. Can I ask if you've listened to the original song yet?

A Past and Future Secret is fairly good, but Skalds and Shadows is definitly my fav! The lyrics as well as the instruments are just... WOW!!!

I asked
karuno for playing the voilin (if he join, mayba he would like to play the flute, too^^)
Regarding the cello: I didn't find someone in the composers list, so I asked a friend (guitarist as well) if he knows any cellist and.. tadaa! A friend of him can play it.
atm I'm waiting for replies and possible affirmations while I've tried to spare some time to practice my vocals.
And as a result of some research at wikipedia, I can say pretty sure that my voice-range is pretty much a tenor. That means from c to a' (or rather g' in my case^^). But I could hit the c'' with some voice-overdrive (I dunno how to call it, even in german XD )

I have bad news according to the cellist. My friend told me hea plays the cello professional now, therefore has has no time for a little project like this :-/
I have managed another contact to a cellist, a cellist teacher in fact. But she stays in Korea right now and will return about end of september. Hopefully there will be a student of her, who is interested.
What about your progress with the arrangements? Anything playabl for me so far? :D
