This was one of the head-only commission slots I chose last month when I opened for emergency commissions to help cover Creampuff's surgery.
I was asked to use minky fleece so it would match the hands and feet they are making, this is my first time using the fabric (and it shed all over omg)
The neck is a ruffled hood and will become part of the outfit which the customer is making themselves, they will actually be picking up the head in person from me at a convention I am attending so I am VERY excited to see this running around in person :D
Horns are from DVC the rest is made by me :3
(PS if this reminds you of anyone that is because the design fell right on the cusp of what few things I will accept for a cosplay-related commission, once you omit one little feature the creature becomes generic and the build-style of the fursuit is still my own)

That's really cool of them :)
And if I am not mistaken it is the same stance that the right holders of Pokemon takes, as long as it is not mass produced and not claimed as "official" it is okay to sell hand made Pokemon stuff (Disney on the other hand, holy crap stay away from them, they sued a daycare for a hand painted mural inside and sued a children's hospital for use of unofficial mascots to cheer up children)

First of all, if this were Toriel it would be fine:

But... this is clearly Toriel. I don't have an issue with it since Toby has clarified his stance on the matter, but I think it's disrespectful to the indie game developer to make a beautiful suit of their design and them claim it's "original goat character design 100% not referencing anything..."
It would be like someone making a *slightly altered* fursuit of your fursona and saying it was 110% original and not inspired by you at all. You may be fine with it (and in this case, Toby says he is), but when we're talking about individual developers (not big corporations) I think we should give credit where it is due.

...but I did note it was referencing something

and I by no means meant disrespect.
This head falls into the same category as the "dapple gray mare" the "hellhound quad" and "white wolf quad" where I felt that if I stayed within my own suit making style while omitting or adding some features (take away fangs, add extra eyes, leave off wings, etc) it was acceptable...

Ah, re-reading again I believe you mean direct credit of inspiration should be due in this case since we are talking about a fellow creative contributor and not a corporation, and that I should not leave this up as "a cosplay of an un-named something."
As someone who is now playing the game (pacifist route... Undyne keeps killing me ugggh) and loves it I will make this more clear.
So here we go: As it stands this head can be taken as a flop eared white goat done monochrome, once the trademark fangs and dress are added by the customer it will go from a generic white goat to an Undertale monster called Toriel, so in the end this will be a cosplay interpretation of the pixel character Toby Fox created :)

while on the topic let me post my policy on cosplay commissions:
I will not do straightforward cosplays, like a Wolf-Link or Pikachu, but I am okay with doing either natural realistic animals (like Wolf's Rain) or generic toony things done in my own style. I may also do realistic interpretations of toony characters.
So I can make you a toony blue hedgehog done in my style, or a realistic blue hedgehog, but I will NOT make a toony blue hedgehog shaped like Sonic, or any color hedgehog shaped like Sonic as the visual style of Sonic is what makes him trademark.
In some cases aspects may be added or removed so as to further keep the actual commission generic, the customer can then add said feature to make the character trademarked (for example: I can make a white wolf and the customer can add the red markings to make it Okami)
*With this head: since it is an interpretation of a pixel character and thus there was no visual style to copy (such as Sonic's unique head and eye shape) this one passed as a generic toony thing once the fangs came off.
