woah i wanna know what it is :D

Being a wildlife major, I love these challenges! They bring me back to my mammology days. My first guess, that I'll try narrowing down, is a species of mole. Townsend's Mole?

Woo! It took me a bit of brain sorting and then resorting to my mammology texts for aid. I kept thinking of weasels, but obviously their dentition still has prominent canines, and I knew it couldn't be anything rodent. Woot!

Can you ID this one?

Holy carp did this one take some time. It didn't strike me as mole/shrew, but looked familiar in some way. Then it reminded me of a bandicoot which got me onto marsupials, and I think that's why it looked familiar. After not finding any similar dentition or skull shapes of similarity in my North American texts, it only solidified that it wasn't North American and likely Australian.
I'm going to say it's a marsupial. Comparing it to a Long-nosed Potoroo seems to fit shape, nuances, and dentition. Though, honestly, I'd never heard of one prior.
