Letting them go is not easy...
Something i sketched up at work. Lyrics are Ulver's "Vigil" which is a beautiful and haunting song. (Though i copied the lyrics from the booklet, but in the song it actually says "for those who used to be")
I listened to the album it's from (Shadows of the Sun) 1.5 times while drawing this, so i guess it took about an hour.
Added the faded colouration digitally just now... I like how it looks. Though the gradients are so subtle that the jpeg compression made them banded... ah well.
I needed to do some actual 'art' ...i think that's why i've been having a block. Need to express.

it's not easy to see, but it is there... i can see it when i scroll up and down. (the motion makes it stand out) It's just in the 'sky' part. ...and yeah, very faint. I can see it because flaws in my own work like to leap out at me, you know... that artist thing where we pick our own stuff apart. :P
This is indicative of everything I love about your art. Thought-provoking subject matter, just the right balance of stylisation and detail, the contrast of organic and geometric forms, and symbolism galore. In a way it's minimalistic, in both line and colour, but this sparing approach makes what's there all the more impactful.
Wow, I'm loving your "artsy" pieces, so you call them. They have a lot of depth and meaning I feel, and heavy relation to what so many of us feel ourselves individually. When you see those expressions from another who feels the same as yourself, that somehow takes something personal, and turns it into a whole for all to feel on a larger scale, but in a way that makes everything seem, a little less lonesome. Very inspiring stuff EC, thank you.
