A burrowing dragon took its children to the edge of its territory to bask in the rising sun. Although they spend most of their time underground, they do like to spend a lot of time in the fresh air.

Burrowing dragons are dragons which are specialized for digging and living in underground societies. Animals that are adapted to living underground are referred to as “fossorial.” Their very short limbs which are spaced close together--and very muscular--allow the dragons to quickly dig burrows and hide. Their necks have the ability to retract to allow themselves to fit into smaller holes. The anoa horns are small enough not to interfere with a dragon crawling into a hole and the rest of their features and adornments facilitate--or at least don’t interfere with--their underground lifestyle. They are based on animals such as moles, burrowing birds, and spider.

Defining Characteristic: Very short limbs spaced close together.
