I think what touched me most about this battle was that Asriel is still very much a child. His attacks remind me of kids playing out in the backyard. "Now I have a gun that shoots rainbows and I can make stars fall out of the sky,"

While epic and imaginative, and fantastically well done, this whole scenario is truly sad. Asriel is truly the most tragic character in the game.

It is! While his motives are asinine, it's hard to blame him given that he's been so hopelessly alone, unable to feel.
