A freight train makes its way around the inner track. The weather vane on top of the barn roof is out of focus in the foreground. A dairy truck is making its way up the gravel road towards the farm. The main hangar of Plasticville Regional Airport can be seen in the distance.
This toy train, an S-gauge American Flyer, has been in my family since 1951. The Plasticville houses also date back to the 1950s. My dad used to set it up for Christmas every year and I'm trying to keep that tradition alive.
If this looks familiar to you, it is an accidental resubmission of my photo "Pulling a Load" (now deleted). Sorry about that, folks.
I don't want to stop your milk train running
I just want to ride it some of the time
I don't think you'd mind if I mention it
Don't leave the cow juice behind, it'll cost you nothing
"Milk Train" lyrics by Grace Slick, from the Jefferson Airplane album "Long John Silver", 1972

I don't know the answer to your question. I've thought of fabricating my own roadbed by sawing pieces of wood into thin trapezoids that would lay under my track pieces. It would be difficult, especially around the curves and I'm not terribly accomplished at woodworking.
