Posting yet another finished work on FA first~! OuO
This took about 10 months to finish... Mainly because I was stressed from schoolwork and constantly had to make adoptables to pay for bills/textbooks/FOOD...the stuff that adults have to deal with orzlll But yes, financial problems always cause me to feel like I'm getting stomach ulcers... I stopped feeling sorry for myself and did my best on this. Chocoppyica had been very patient all this time, and I'm very thankful for that.
Most of the time, if I take extremely long on a commission 10+ months to years, it's usually because I get stressed over not drawing it as well as I have it in my head and give up. But the giving up means that my progress remains stagnant and the need for funds increases as I feel sorry for myself .__. So in that time period of self-pity, I try to make adoptables that I like to stave off artblock and ease the financial burden for as long as I can, but that doesn't solve the problem...
I LOVE DRAWING, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen it as a hobby I'm very serious about. If I can make some extra funds that would help me and/or my elderly parents, then I should do my best to get over my ego and just TRY.
I spent over 20 hrs on this piece, and I hope that even a tiny bit of effort shows ;u;

Ah man i know that feeling all too well.. a piece doesn't look how i imagined it, then to get my inspiration back up i go around looking at other people's artwork, only to end up further discouraging myself.. xs
But then i remind myself.. if people didn't like my art they wouldn't be commissioning me, so i should suck it up and get the piece done!
That mentality doesn't always help.. but it's good to remind yourself about it anyway! Maybe you could try that too?
That aside, what another lovely piece you've done <3 The placement of the bridge is a tad bit awkward in my eyes, perhaps a shimmering lake there would do better, but it's still very lovely! The effort you put into it is still very clearly visible, and that pose for the characters is heartwarming~
The foliage and the grass looks just right with the way it frames the whole piece, and the lighting creates this almost magical feel to it!
All in all, great work! <3

Awwww, I'm glad that there's someone else who understands that feeling ;/////; But yes, I should take your advice and stop moping ;u;)b
Thank you so much for your critique! I've uploaded the slightly edited version on dA (the bridge doesn't look as awkward anymore, but I'll see about adding a lake somewhere in a future piece <33333 Thank you so much for your suggestion!)
