This lovely lass was done on commission for a client who came at me with a rather complex character concept. It was very challenging and there were some maddening moments to get things right. But I'm very glad that things fell into place properly in the end!

Laputa's design entailed 2 tails, 2 sets of ears, and 2 sets of wings. I've never worked on a character with so many features and add ons like her horns and feathers. Laputa was named after the film "Castle in the Sky" by Studio Ghibli so I felt it only fitting that her backpack lining be done with a very special fabric. Castles that float in the sky! Her backpack opening can fit one's wallet, hotel keys, and car keys. Perfect for convention going! Her owner requested she have button eyes for a added cute plushie effect, I was happy to give her what she requested. Her straps are made of durable nylon and are adjustable. Each one has a buckle, to make it easier to take the backpack off and on when you are wearing it while in fursuit.
