A friend of mine suggested to me that I draw Edward for Inktober, and I’m glad I listened. I decided I’d just go straight to the source and look at a few of Tim Burton’s sketches for detail reference, as well as trying to emulate that ragged, “scratchy” look Burton’s sketches have.

I’m very adamant about my ink work being precise, but it felt really good to loosen up a bit. Plus, it’s one of the few times I’ve ever done shading like this with just black ink. :)
