Your lines are looking more consistent and cleaner. Also your inks look a little sharper too. Something good must be going on! I like how you're handling his eyes, the brow and assymetry is sharper than from what I have seen of you.
Some things I could focus on shape layout along with line reductions to convey his gesture with as few lines as possible. The best way I'd play with that is to just trace over the current drawing you have in playful shapes.

Rad Sechrist makes a lot of fun of breaking down his doodles, I'd suggest glancing through his blog if you wanna find some fun exercises to play with! Be your own lab rat!
Keep up the good doodles, and keep playing with full poses and backgrounds. Keep it short and keep doing it, and have fun if you can, most of all! This is a great start!
