I watched the premiere of The Lion Guard and loved it! Granted there were a couple of things I would have done differently, but overall I thought it was really sweet and heartfelt. It was like seeing old friends again after years apart. Kion was by far my favorite of the new cast. I actually relate to him quite a bit. I really loved the idea of the connection between Kion and Scar, so I wanted to draw something related to that.
Anyway, I've been working with markers lately and enjoy it quite a bit, so I took a trip to the local art shop and invested in some higher quality markers (as opposed to the fine tip sharpie and cheap kid's washable marker I was using before). It makes a difference, but I obviously still have a lot to learn. There is some variation in the black shading where it looks almost gray, and areas that I completely messed up while adding thicker lines. I fought off the urge to go in and edit this in photoshop. I don't want to rely on digital editing to make my lines clean when I'm working traditionally. Here's hoping my hand gets steadier the more I practice.
Characters belongs to Disney.
The art belongs to me, and you are not permitted to steal, trace, copy, reference, or otherwise redistribute it in any way. I also do not want to see this posted on RP sites, Facebook, YouTube, etc. without my permission. That's still art theft. If you want to use this in a video or something similar, please ask first!

That's very kind of you. You can email it to me at VexVamp[at]gmail.com and we can work something out after that.
Vectoring is the process of digitizing art so that it can be used for practical applications.
For example: https://www.google.com/search?q=vector+tiger&safe=off&rlz=1C1CHVN_enUS521US522&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=935&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwithtb877nJAhWJmogKHRt4C8sQ_AUIBigB
it's basically a process of using illustrator to smooth out edges and bring out the solid colors so to speak.
Once an image is vectored I can use my vinyl cutter to make stickers or posters or signs out of it.

i liked it too, sure simba was a bit of a butt but people forget that this guys been away since his cub through his teen all the way up to his adult days. adults learn their lessons too after all. i can't wait to see more of the guard team and hope bunga doesn't become such a spotlight hogger. ono's my fave.
i also couldn't help but feel a bit of foreshadowing, after they leave the cave where they tell him what happened to the previous team the camera just stays and looms over scars picture, like its telling us something.
granted im sure he wont completely go dark of course but he'll sure be on the verge, maybe the power will go to his head and he'll become arogant. granted i dont see that happening just yet, kion's a good boy. not even crossing the border to the outlands like his sister and father did when he was their age.

Agreed. I think people also forget that getting a cheetah (probably the frailest of the big cats, made for running not fighting), a non-predatory bird that could be swallowed in one bite by a hyena, and a honey badger that is like an eighth of the size of a lion doesn't look very smart from an outsider's perspective. Now a hippo I can get behind. Ono is one of my faves too, such a cute little guy. Did you know his voice actor is 17? Bunga isn't terrible, but I just felt that, like you said, he kind of hogged the spotlight. But I guess he's more likeable than he could have been. Kion is definitely the level-headed one of the family. He looks a lot like Mufasa to me, and that's really great to see. I'm excited to see what they do with his character.
its just genius how they decided to introduce other animal character into the lion king world while also teaching kids about them as well as Swahili i don't care if its canon or not, simba's son as the protagonist of a lion king spin off tv show has always been a dream of mine before the timon and pumba days and while im happy they finall went that direction, it is a little dumped down for pre schoolers. oh well. still cute though.
