It looks a bit like a reference sheet, actually. I really need to learn expressions like you can do them. Right now, I feel I can only do very few expressions: smiling, grinning, etc.
I think that'll benefit my drawings the most, to give it soul and character.

Aw, shucks... Well, I'd be happy to help you out some time! What I find helps me most with expressions is trying to imagine a specific situation for that character that would make them respond, often even scribbling dialogue in the margins! (Even more often incorporating it into the picture as a whole)

You'll get it in time I think, maybe it would help to embrace the cartooniness, actually! Sometimes it's best to play to your instincts and strengths... That being said, there's no reason not to try and push yourself to do what you'd like!
