Hmm, didn't know this was playing this morning, so I missed it, but I'll check it out tomorrow. Still, so far, it looks...okay. No where near the level of some of the stuff I watch. The animation looks good though.

and yeah, it really is pretty mediocre (although we shouldn't expect much since it IS aimed a much
younger audience, but even for that target group it seemed a little...not great) but i'm hoping that
that's just because it's just the tv-movie and not the series! my biggest issue with it was the
problems characterizing simba and kiara, and we don't really learn much about anyone other than
bunga and kion, but hopefully the cartoon series will fix these issues when it airs
(and yeah the animation is pretty good! it's goofy in some areas, especially on simba, but for a pilot
it isn't nearly as bad as it could be)

True, remember Clone Wars and it's pilot movie? Heck, the first episode they showed was...well, stupid would be putting it mildly. Still, that show got very, very good by the end, and I'm willing to give a lot of shows a shot lately, since doing so has given me quite fun times. Still, even if it's only ever going to be for its target demographic, there's nothing wrong with that, and in fact, can be quite the good thing.

Ooo, i never actually got into that series but I'll taking your word for it!
And yeah! Sometimes a show can ruin itself by trying to play into the hands
of the older demographic and it's very sad to see that happen :(

Indeed. Ninjago remains a fun watch because it doesn't take itself too seriously, MLP too for that matter. They enjoy what they do, and that's important. Still, this one is definitely for the kids(Watched it this morning). And by the old gods I hope they don't try and make those songs a regular thing. It kind of works for other shows(MLP Phenius and Ferb), but the music tempo is all wrong, because they keep trying to copy the old Lion Kings, and can't really afford that level of quality. Still, it might grow into something special if they put some work, especially considering how good that animation is. Character design too.

Yeah! I'm hoping that they can build it up into something greater than what it is, and i'm
really looking forward to seeing them try even if it ends up falling short for me personally >w<
