[Character Design] Jedda the Cassowary
This girl was going to go up for auction, but Chimera claimed her in stream as an early Christmas gift for NewEnglander because he thought that Newie would write her awesomely... which I totally agree with.
Jedda is a Cassowary, a large bird species native to Australia. I pictured her being pretty badass since any anthro coming from Australia has to be since it's the land of everything trying to kill you. I imagine her having a personality similar to a female Crocodile Dundee.
Jedda: You call that a knife?!
**Holds up large inner claw**
Jedda: THIS is a knife!
I will try to have another bird for a proper auction tomorrow.

Cassowaries have an infamous reputation but they're really, as a rule, very low key birds. You just don't mess with 'em!
I rather imagine that Jedda would be about the same way. Very low key, unless you threatened her, her friends, or otherwise pushed her Berzerk Button. Then watch out!

True, keep out of their mating territory and they are generally cool, usually hiding before you can see them. Encroach too much and all bets are off, they will actively defend their turf... but to be honest, it is more bluster than anything else. Mind you, their noggins and beaks are tough and you can get some pretty impressive bruising from pecks and such.. Don't know anyone who has been clawed but those strong legs and claws are not just there for looks can be effective against predators. During a study we did come across a feral dog that we were pretty confident had come off second best against a nearby cassowary.
Not a lady to mess with as you said.

A very good anthropomorphic translation of a rather interesting species... interesting to see the toes changed as well, creates a more familiar looking foot than keeping the original symmetrical foot construction without losing the single aggressive claw... may make her walking technique remain 'birdlike' though...
I agree with ArchTeryx, I imagine a calm and down to earth personality with a few 'buttons' that bring out the 'don't mess with me' mode that would make her one of those individuals who are known for defending herself and friends with vigour... and, yes, 'badass' describes much of our local residents... keeps life from getting boring though!
