On 28th October 2015, Widget's mate Gimpy (who I hatched myself back in July) successfully hatched 6 adorable chicks. It was against all odds, because they actually started hatching the day before I had to fly to Switzerland. They were literally coming out of their eggs as Al's parents carried their cage off to look after them while we were away! With all the disturbance, and Gimpy too flustered to sit on the eggs, I wasn't sure if the chicks would make it. But here they are, perfect and healthy. I took this photo after getting back to the UK, so they're about a week old here. The five yellow chicks have turned out to be pure white like Widget, while the darker chick is a pretty silver.
