Back in the day Ral Partha did these miniature sets which included a "prehistoric" character and a prehistoric critter. The critters were masterful sculpts and a lot cooler than the humans.
I thought this was a nifty idea, and did several drawings based on that, though I wanted to stick to Tertiary period animals and more interesting humans.
