Tallis Duanthmoor - Druchii or Daemon FINAL (non fur-related
*FLOPDEAD*
Oh my lord. Seriously. I WAY underestimated the time this thing was gonna take. I've. . . barely left my computer. . . in three days. But. . . on the plus side. . . there isn't a thing about it I don't like. A few things could get cleaned up, but. . . FUCK IT. Seriously. I'm done.
This, for all who aren't aware, is a gift for my fiance. . . whose character you see standing proudly in the center there. He is not a fur. . . his character is derived from the Druchii of Warhammer. . . a game he and I have been fairly committed to since before it was a bit shiny MMO. . . and in his case. . . since he was a teen. So this is sort of. . . an homage. . . to that obsession.
The character is Tallis Duanthmoor. . . an evil sonofabitch who made a pact with a daemon to share its' heart. I like the Ifrit design for daemons, and. . . I couldn't really pass up the chance to do those horns. But more importantly, this is the first. . . EVER. . . piece. . . I have done fire in. . . and it took a lot of study to get it looking correct. Comments are welcome. . . criticisms are welcome. . . but right now. . . I must pass out.

That guy in the front definitely looks confident! I wished you exaggerated that hip rest a little bit more. Like he's being all sassy and badass, and he doesn't care what anyone says!
My favourite part of the dragon may be how the lineart has avoided that trend most digital images have of being distracting/separate from colour. You were very mindful of line quality, and it paid off!
In composition, I wish the fire was interacting more with the characters. It doesn't look like it's lighting the characters and using strong, warm colours to suck out all the other colours near it.

I totally understand, but at least you can talk to and see your other artists friends more than once a year eh? How is your puppy doing now? I back read some of your journals and I feel your pain there too, I just had a drop a huge amount to save my cat, its not easy... I hope maybe the new year will bring the opportunity for me to do artwork for myself again (but I doubt it because I need the extra $ from commissions, even if I cant do many at a time) I wish you luck with your pup :)
