Aether Adrift Cover Concept [Aether Adrift]
This is the first concept of a cover that I came up with for Aether Adrift. It's black and white, but think of it like the cover and poster art for the old Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies.
The king's silouhette is big in the center, with his air force launching behind him, his soldiers standing ready at the back of his hand, and the looming threat of the drones on his cloak, and in the middle of that, three heroes running forward to face his tyranny.
I think it's cool, but it's a little too Fulgori-focused. It could work for an adventure focused on him~

Well first of all I just like it, but to go into more detail: It grabs the eye and tells a story before the reader has even opened to the first page. Beyond that I unfortunately have nothing to add you didn't say already: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etcetera. It would make a marvelous cover for a campaign.
Teaser imagery nowadays are all about displaying action or a setpiece, advertising the lead actors, doing something abstract and pretentious, or just being completely cryptic and uninformative. All of it still look great, too, but this sort of imagery here seems to have fallen by the wayside, which is unfortunate to my mind.

Yeah, this kind of cover definitely has fallen by the wayside, which is a little disappointing, but I think it's coming back, slowly but surely.
I think part of it is that this kind of art was always hand painted before, and now there's a preference for digitally altering photography.
