Taranith Info:

Normal -

*Taranith tend to be brightly colored with their brightest hue lighting up the orbs on their bodies, providing safe passage in even the darkest parts of the sea.
*Though they are called "The Stormbringers", Taranith cannot greatly influence the weather without experiencing the most extreme emotions. Even then, it typically takes an entire tribe to create a storm that lasts for more than a few minutes.
*Most of the more gifted Taranith are unable to completely control their abilities.. Somtimes forming rain clouds over their own heads when on the surface or accidentally striking someone with a small jolt of electricity when frustrated.
*Taranith are the spirits of those lost out at sea, their emotions bring forth the lights in the coral, and, when it shines most bright, a new Taranith is born.
*The sacred coral is not the only kind that can create a Taranith, but, in The Inverted Sea, wrecked ships will often scatter Taranith tribes and unearth the Water God's Garden.
*Not every lost soul is able to become a Taranith, the exact criteria is unknown even to The Stormbringers themselves.
*Taranith remember nothing from their past life until they reach the rank of Seer within their tribe.
*There have only been ten Seers since the beginning of time, seven of which went mad.
*Tribes of Taranith are created based on the season that they were created, except in the circumstances of the Painted and the Echoed.
*The eyes of The Stormbringers are practically useless, unable to see more than basic shapes and auras.
*Most Taranith have eyes that match the color of their soulmate's aura... Too bad they can't see that to know it.
*Feathered eyelashes are how the blind Taranith discern the most detailed features of the people they touch with them.
*Being touched by the feathered eyelashes of a Stormbringer is considered fortunate because you have earned their trust.
*The Taranith don't understand the concept of "kissing", because a kiss from them is a quickly batted eyelash against the skin.
*"Wings" are merely a form of getting out of danger in a hurry and cannot be used to fly. The soft feathers absorb oxygen so that it may be filtered and pushed through the stiffer feathers, acting as a sort of propeller.
*Taranith are carnivorous, and a few have been known to eat Humans.
*The leading tribe currently has a pact with the Trisagion Council, often sending a member to attend their meetings through the crack in the fountain.
*Taranith, much like the Trisagion, do not like the Nethertern because of a past with Jack hijacking their souls.


Painted -

*Painted is the surname given to the Taranith that are born near human.
*Painted Taranith are considered weaker and are sent off to join smaller, often forgotten tribes.
*Painted Taranith have human skin that is painted to denote when they were created.
*One color from their body (typically to match their lashes) is used to paint the symbols onto their bodies.
*Each month has its own symbol:

January - Empty Circle
February - Heart
March - Sun
April - Droplet
May - Flower
June - Triangle
July - Rectangle
August - Diamond
September - Cloud
October - Leaf
November - Figure Eight (Infinity)
December - Full Circle

*One line means the beginning half of the month, two means the later half.
*Either a Moon or a Sun is depicted for day/night.
*Night: if the Moon was waning, the moon is given a point beneath it, and, if it was waxing, the point is above it.
*Day: if the Sun was clouded, only the top half will be shown with rays, and, if it was clear, it will be painted on with full rays.


Echoed -

*Echoed is the surname given to Taranith born dark.
*Some Echoed Taranith still have bright colored markings or orbs, but the orbs themselves can shut off/stop emitting light.
*Echoed Taranith are feared by the others because of their abilities to hide themselves.
*The Stormbringers will often shun Echoed and force them to the parts of the oceans that no one goes to.
*Because of this, many Echoed become hunters and cannibals... Preying on their fellow Taranith in near feral packs.
*Pointed teeth aren't natural to the Echoed, but many file their teeth to fine points for better slicing.
*Echoed on the surface are rare, almost never coming to shore. If they wash up there by accident, they will always be wide eyed and afraid... tending to lash out at anything that comes close.
*Echoed are notably over-eaters, often taking whatever they can get. Even if it's too much.
*Even when shown hospitality, Echoed will eat like there are other predators around and are as protective of their food as they are shy with their kisses.
