The third planet of a binary star system, Ceal, is a place of mystery and wonder, yet also of conflicts and wars most terrible. It's a place of destiny, and a world where epic tales are being told. It also holds many a secret. How does a planet this small posess such a brilliant ring? What is the deal with the almost perfectly circular continent of Zelsia on the northern hemisphere? And what do the symettrical patterns on the moon Feera's surface mean? History long forgotten is evident, but how can one tell the difference between truth and false, between myth and fiction, between ancient wisdoms and modern ravings? Only time will tell...
Orbiting the twin suns of Falyro and Falykro roughly once every 301 days, the year on Ceal is divided into 13 months, each named after one of the elements, with the first twelve months being of equal length, and the 13th month alternating in length to allow for the irregularities in Ceal's orbit caused by the interaction of the twin suns.
Located roughly 32.000 km above Ceal's surface, a glittering ring of unknown material decorates the sky both during the day and the night. Twice a year, for a period of about one week, Ceal's shadow will fall upon the rings, and obscur a part of them.
The moon, Feera, orbits Ceal once every 25 days, taking one day longer about once every three months. At a distance of over 300.000 km, it is well outside Ceal's ring, although the tidal forces invoked by it sometimes induce observable distortions in the rings. It's surface is bright, and covered in geometrical patterns, leading astronomers to believe that at one point, intelligent life might have existed on Feera.
What will the future hold for the people of Ceal?
Will they one day escape their tiny world and learn the truth about their past?
Or will they fight amongst one another, disagreeing whether fur and tails are good or bad, and arguing about whether wings make one species superior over the other?
Only time will tell.
Only time, will tell...
