Oh good, this is what people come to this site to see

I'm sorry, I don't see anything wrong with posting this here. It is a hobby of mine to collect taxidermy items, pelts, and bones and I know quite a few other users on this site that share the same interests. I understand not everyone agrees with it but please be respectful.

I collect taxidermy stuff too. Can we be buddies and like talk about taxidermy all the time?

Omg, Yes I did I have pictures of my used to be soft mount dog in my scraps. I had to hide them knowing how people feel about the subject especally when I have a dog that was taxidermied after he died by getting impacted by a car. Eh... Hey buddy but your not suposed to be chasing cars

*stalked your scraps* I think I saw him on DA when he was being remounted, is that right? He's a gorgeous dog and I'm sorry to hear about that! It's nice that you decided to save his pelt and help him live on in a way. Domestic animals and taxidermy can be a touchy subject, I've seen so many people on DA get shit over cat pelts(usually roadkill) and such. And yet, most people don't seem to mind the dog skulls people post pictures of. Neither one bothers me but I've noticed that from lurking in the taxidermy side of DA for a few years lol

Lol, I wish I kept his skull.... yet it was far too mangled. I see the dog skulls for sale all the time here. Also, I have a couple taxidermy pieces I can part with

I know right! I didn't know about them until my dad told me about how they run around outside the hunting camp in Maine! I want to get a soft mounted one eventually. This guys not mountable but his first is gorgeous!

Nope lol, he got it from a trapper friend who lives up there! He went to hunt deer but he hasn't actually gotten one up there in years! =P

I mean, was it killed specifically for taxidermy?

No your fine! I'm not sure exactly the purpose, I know the guy makes a living off of his trapping. It wasn't skinned for taxidermy (to be mounted) because its missing the legs and stuff so he may sell it to the fur market for clothing but I'm not positive!

I really don't understand people who see things like this on the front page and feel like it's their duty to come knocking down your door and telling you you're wrong about this or that or that you shouldn't upload stuff like this and other crap to that effect.

On a lighter subject this is a fantastic pelt, did your dad skin it himself?

I know! Like im not going to their page and shoving it down their throats. I get that some people don't like or agree with it but I do and everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Thanks! My dad has a trapper friend who lives up there, he got it tanned over the summer because my dad was asking for one last year for me apparently =P

While I do not agree with killing animals for their pelts which I know from what you said that neither you or your dad did, nor do I really like animals having to die. I think it is wrong for people to be rude to you for it. The animal is dead and there is nothing anyone can do about it now.

Thank you for being so respectful about it! I know people have very strong opinions about things like this sort of thing but I never understood why people felt the need to attack over it. I guess it's probably a knee jerk reaction and it's the only way they know how to react. It can get frustrating sometimes. I'm always open to civil discussions but the second someone gets rude or condescending I'm done lol

No problem. I think now days people are just looking for something to argue about. I think it is ok for people to share opinions but only when it is done respectfully. People really shouldn't attack others over taxidermy stuff anyway. Like my dad has a coyote head in the garage but he didn't kill it. In fact it's death was a complete accident. It was hit by a car and my dad found it and had it stuffed. Point in that was some times the stuffed things died naturally or in an accident so people shouldn't attack others expecially if they don't know how it died. Plus the guy who killed it may have ate it which makes its death at least have had a purpose.
