Here's a commission that
Razzyk and I have been going over for a while now in notes. Basically I asked Razor to create a version of Brack with high tech carbon armor with flight capability and I'm quite impressed with the result given that he doesn't typically do a lot of armor in his other commissions.
I think
Razzyk really outdid himself in terms of how much detail is on display here, and also how the style eventually turned out; at first we were kinda focusing on more sci-fi looking power-armor, but the more we worked with it and made it to suite Brack the more it kinda took on more of a samurai feel (especially given how other references of him often feature Far East styles of armor).
This came out really well though, I love the color effects, the lighting, the bright energy colors against the carbon colors of the armor, and the crazy wings that kinda represent the dragons desire to take flight and achieve their full potential. This also showcases how the Dragons employ very advanced technology and makes them capable of defeating the superior numbers and resources of the Volterrans and Soldiens given the right circumstances.
I think if I were to ever use anything like this in the animation I'd probably scale parts of it way down so that I could move it without it requiring months to render; though some small parts would probably change due to artistic shifts and the imperfect process of trying to replicate the style of a reference with different programs/techniques.
Anyway, as always let me know what you guys like, what you don't, and how this can improve future postings.
Thanks, I hope you all like this.
*** Also on an unrelated note, this might be one of the first submissions that fits well into "Sci-Fi"; I always thought my other submissions were kinda borderline, since you can argue that a lot of the equipment and clothes are similar to some stuff you might see in modern times. Anyway, I just thought that was interesting.

The dark shine is really nice. I wander if parts of the wings could have shared the rest of the armor's color and texture for a more unified appearance.
I like the gun a lot too, though the way it is held makes me curious if it's a normal rifle/pistol grip or a curved shorter grip similar to the FN P90.
Overall this is great.

It's possible but I kinda want the gear of each "faction" to kinda have a distinct color scheme. So for the Soldiens it's blue, but the Volterrans it's red, I'm thinking purple for the dragons but I still need to work on which shade exactly.
But yeah, the artist did an excellent job with the lighting and color shine; this rendition was definitely really impressive.
Well with the gun I kinda showed him a basic energy weapon reference and let him go from there, though in the future I might do a bit shorter guns and maybe have two of them instead. Though I'll definitely keep that in mind with the contour/grip style.
Thanks for such a detailed comment, I really appreciate the feedback.
Much obliged!

Thanks,
Razzyk did a great job. I'd recommend checking out his page if you liked dragons with different costumes/themes.

Well that's how it goes, a lot of artists are struggling to make it so I can see why a lot of them can't really afford requests.
My advice, try looking for artists who are just getting started out and still need a lot of feedback; their work might be a bit rough but I'm sure they'd appreciate the attention.
Anyway, good luck.

Thanks,
Razzyk did a fantastic job with the style and detail. (I commissioned him for this one)
