Sorry for my absence these past several days! We've been really busy. The dwarf hamsters from Chicago arrived on Saturday, and we've been pretty busy getting them settled and treating the ones with medical concerns.

Guys, between Pipsqueakery and me, ALL of those 18 hamsters slated to be killed in Chicago were pulled and are now safe. I could cry thinking about it. They are all so different, but in general they are so sweet... this little one lets us stroke him to sleep, hes so gentle. They are all separated between 40g tanks in same sex groups right now (well the little ones are all together until they reach sexual maturity, and there is one very ill one that needs to be isolated in a bin cage, but basically) and seeing them in that environment with safe and soft places to sleep and toys to play with and nutritious food and treats makes me nearly cry in comparison to seeing them in the pictures of them the shelter had posted online, all smashed together in a box in their own feces. I am so excited to give these guys the chance at a great life.
