In the beginning, there would only be two. Two to be remembered by time as 'brothers', though there were no words to describe their genders, nor the nature of how deep their relationship went. Two creatures born and made with holy power, though they were not angels. They were as powerful as the highest ranking soldiers of heaven, but they were... imperfect.

The wings on their heads never grew properly. Their halos damaged their bodies, instead of aiding them. They had tails and features like animals. To the holy ranks of heaven, these creatures, wherever they had come from, were a mockery. They were cast down to earth. Considered barely better than humans crawling in their own filth. ​

​Cast away so quickly after their birth. These brothers had no names, no knowledge, and no hope. They only had each other.

They were afraid.
