...Oh gosh that beard looks awful... xD
Anyways... I really couldn´t understand all the hype for undertale until I played it and aaaah... The history and characters are great, Asgore is one of my favorites! He is just... So nice... So when I was about to reach the throne I didn´t wanted to enter and fight him... ;w;
Whatever... Check it out! Is a really fun game! :´D

I don't know, to be honest I can see Toriel's inability to reconcile between her relationship with Asgore and the admittingly terrible things he ended up doing only by virtue of the weakness of his character. First by giving into his anger and issuing that horrible decree, but then not backing out of it when he knew he had made a mistake (and as she pointed out; he knew fully well that what he was doing was wrong, otherwise he would have taken the much more proactive method and not be so wishy-washy about the whole thing).
Instead Asgore prolonged everyone's suffering and held fast to his command under the dressing and presumption that it was the right thing for the sake of his people. He might have been right on that latter fact (and really, things would not have worked out as well as they did without the result of his actions) but at the cost of not just to those who fell victim to it, but also consider what Toriel must have gone through by indications of her warnings and various clues and signs around her home.
It is rather heart breaking to see who were obviously a great couple together be torn apart, but I can understand how betrayed Toriel must have felt and how she can't really feel the same way about him anymore, in spite of his inherently good nature.
