Thunderbolt Fighter Mod - WH40K
As a space-borne army, the Red Hat Brigade typically has little room to transport large vehicles. When faced with heavy armor, Lady Redcoat relies upon a stock of rare fighter jets, referred to informally as 'Mosquitoes,' to deliver the necessary firepower to back up her ground troops.
To keep aloft while laden with so many armaments on such a small hull, including four kinetic peircer missiles, the 'Mosquito' has broad wings with engines attached to the ends for increased maneuverability. Pilots are typically assigned a single, primary target on the field and enter the battle with a relentlessly long strafing run, focusing fire until their enemy is either a smoldering wreck or crippled beyond usefulness before leaving the combat zone to return for secondary marks.

This one was rather fun. I managed to get my hands on a Storm Talon some time ago, with the intent to turn it into a jet fighter. With my shift towards Imperial Militia I ended up scraping together my own version of the Thunderbolt Fighter. Nearly everything you see here is from the original kit, with the exception of the autocannons (the Skitaari chicken-walker), some various armor plates (mostly old Leman Russ kits), and the wings (my own assembly of balsa wood and plasticard).
And while I'm hammering the point in (and FA seems to have decided to HIDE the relevant submission), I'm running some donations for Extra Life! It's a charity by gamers for Children's Hospital Network.
You can either contact me about getting a $15 commission >HERE< (every cent goes to Extra Life)
Or you can donate directly >HERE<
