I finally broke down and bought ARK Survival Evolved. The game has a certain charm I can't avoid, even if the stupid character creator and the pooping were a weird surprise at release. :P Haven't been playing long but tamed a Carno after a few hours. Their goddamn tiny arms are just HILARIOUSLY USELESS. Even a t-rex probably gets more use out of their arms than this jesus christ. But I love this girl. <3
Not a perfect game, and really chugs my computer (I can run it on high just fine, but the load-in lag is AWFUL, and sometimes it freezes when loading in new areas I haven't been to.) BUT I've already thrown hours into it in singleplayer since I wanted to learn before doing multiplayer things.
Now its just a matter of finding an okay server. maybe friends to play with. Or even just buy my own server with a couple of fronds. IF anyone happens to play this lemme know. :0c Otherwise, enjoy the sketch. Will probably do vore stuff in the future with more dinos. All this dino stuff lately has gotten me back into it.

hehehe yeah thought about that aswell...would be more suitable for the larger creatures and the biomes and stuff.
needs quite some more openish landscapes where creatures like the carno can get full advance of their speed and stuff.
there also Adding a second Sauropode laters, even if it is smaller then the Bronto it would be cooler to see it on a slightly bigger map ^^'

Having a solid solo-play option would be nice too. Friend said they got one finally in a recent update, but I haven't checked yet because of the aforementioned "cant play it" thing :P
Would like to know my dino buddies won't permadie too. Main reason I never bothered with companions in Minecraft heh...
Those raptors tho. Superhandsome. Would like to see some featherbutts too someday :>

not sure if this command is still "Fresh" but in the past they had slightly problems with multicore CPUs so some one find out a neat advanced launch command for Ark in Steam to make it use All and not just one or two avaible Cores on a CPU,
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES
it also had some additions for Gamma and DX settings on it but due to an Graphicscard update on my side i just endet up with using that command line on startup. ;)

My current computer's just not cut out for high-end gaming in general though, even struggles with basic Minecraft :B
Heck, my 'good' laptop actually gets Out-of-Memory errors if I even attempt to LAUNCH the game. Only way I could actually play it at all was on my dying laptop (fan won't work, graphical display bugs aplenty, can take up to ten minutes just to start up...) or on my terribly-unstable (And today, now confirmed totally dead....) aging and out of date desktop.
When I get a new computer i'd like to take ARK for another spin though, to play with the many dinosaurs :>
To be honest, survival games like this don't generally interest me, but the taming and riding dinosaurs thing looks interesting, and I can't help but get a Halo-Forerunner vibe from the structures you see in-game ^^; So I'd like to at least dabble in it a bit. Alone, preferably. ;P

then good luck, hope it gets all worked out with the new machine soon then so you can enjoys your Dinosaurs ^^ theres even a Mod wich changes the vanilla sounds of the Dinos and critters their to either, their Jurassic Park counterpart sounds or general more fitting sounds for the Animals hehe ^^
Used to have a bunch of laptops. Even some of the "gaming" laptops in the past. Tis no fun. Also if you know someone/somewhere that'll help you upgrade or figure out how to do it yourself, slowly upgrading a desktop PC is far, far less wallet crushing than buying a 900 dollar premade one right away. My current setup was all parts I've bought myself. I believe there's even websites that help you "construct" your PC using compatible parts, and will give you e-mail updates if a part you want happens to go on sale on any of the big websites. \o/
Yeah there was two such sites I was looking at. Bookmarked one that had a toooon of configuration options, but a friend of mine pointed me to another that also offered a great deal of good customization while keeping it much simpler (And providing a brief overview of why that particular component is important and what it does for your computer's performance - a big help for technical halfwits like myself xP).
I'm not too stressed over getting the 'perfect' computer though, just one that works well enough for me. ^^
But shopping around and picking what you need/want rather than just looking at the most expensive computer and saying "That's the best!" - is what I'll end up doing anyway :>
(TIs also a shame Dell doesn't let you customize their computers anymore; pre-made's is all they'll do now :L )

I have a love/hate relationship with the Carno in ARK. On one hand, I've named one that keeps trying to ruin my life Nixon. He's a prick, and chases me out of the edge of the forest any chance he gets.
On the other, my desire to tame as many of the different beasts as possible makes me want to capture Nixon, rather than kill him.
All I know for sure is that I am really quite glad my Pachy is fast enough and small enough to keep away from that big albino jerk for now.
