I do not ever think that firedogs are sufficiently large but this pup is well on its way and I am super extra proud of it and shall reward it with lots of hugging and petting.

Also FA auto-resizes pics so that they are no longer than 1280 pixels in any direction. You can get around that by going to "Change submission file" and uploading the image again, at which point it should be the original file dimensions. A bit of trouble, but at least it's allowed!

It's a weird one! As far as I can tell, it used to be a glitch, but at some point they decided to keep it, and added a tiny disclaimer about it to one of the upload screens.

If it's a feature they've decided to keep, I don't see why they don't just remove the resolution limitations in the first place.

Couldn't tell you. My best guess is they're hoping most people won't figure it out and therefore file upload sizes will remain smaller, but that just feels silly.
