Commission - Circuit Breaker - Final Colors
[Update - Swapped out my phone pic with a scan. Better quality image. Also, fixed a TON of spelling errors. XD Enjoy! :D]
All I can say at this point is that I'm relieved to be done with this piece. Not because I didn't enjoy working on it! More because I was so nervous about screwing it up. :P
The design for the bike alone went through SEVERAL versions. Tried designing it from scratch based on a previously existing partial design, which you can find if you look through
Kallen_Windchaser's gallery. That never worked because I just don't have the correct working knowledge of motorcycles (or anything else motorized, for that matter).
Tried building it up from online references of dirt bike model motorcycles. Nothing lined up properly and the proportions just didn't work.
What we wanted was a street bike. Sleek, cool and badass. I finally took
redkam's advice (which I REALLY need to do more often) and bought a couple of small models. Drew inspiration from one particular model to come up with this shape. The decals on the bike were my idea. ;)
Colors were done using Copics and Prismas with a smattering of white gel pen work for the reflections.
This will be making its way to the post office in fairly short order. But, I wanted to show it around here first. :)

I think you did great on the design! Very cool. :)
Yes, drawing things like this is sometimes WORLDS easier if you have a model in front of you. Toys lack detail, but it's not too hard to imagine the missing bits of superimpose them from refs. Having something you can turn over and around in your hands can make such pictures far less of a chore!
