Technically Ichabod's the bigger jerk since he really only wanted to marry Katrina for her money. He didn't care about her at all. While a lot of people tend to paint Brom as "Proto-Gaston", they tend forget that despite his machismo, he was still a good natured guy who never actively tried to hurt anyone EXCEPT Ichabod for stealing his girl away.
