So uh... recap from last night. I went to see Streetlight Manifesto live at HOB Orlando, and I went with three friends [won't use names], almost four but she couldn't make it and I wished she came too :(. I've been to ska concerts before, so had one of my friends, the other two, it was their first. I'll try and keep the rest short. Sycamore Smith and Dan Potthast opened for Streetlight, and both of them were really fucking awesome! [Met both of them after the concert!] And then Streetlight came out, and well... things got out of hand real fast. Just on the first song, things got way out of hand. It became the most violent mosh pit I had ever been in, worst than when I saw Reel Big Fish at the same club. I lost one of my friends and his brother, and the other one I was trying to keep from getting killed in the pit. Long story short, after a lot of head kicking, beer spilling, and fighting people, I brought her out of the pit. But, moral of the story. STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO IS EVEN FUCKING BETTER IN PERSON! After the show, it took us twenty minutes to find each other because we all got separated in the pit. Found out my friend's little brother was in the circle pit the entire time [That's pretty ballsy for a first time!]. Then, me and my friend, both musicians, met Mike Brown and Jim Conti, the bari and trombone player then met Sycamore Smith and Dan P at the merch table. Through a night of getting my ass kicked, beer and water thrown on me, getting my head kicked by crowd surfers, and knees bashed in trying to help a friend out of the mosh pit, the question came up, "Would you do it again?" The answer is simple, Hell. Fucking... YES! I have never had a fun time with friends like that one. A night that was as electric as that one, I would do again the next night. An experience I won't forget with people I won't forget.
