The Quran is pretty vague about what the ifrit (or djinn in general) look like. Some 15th century illustrations (i.e. various copies of Marvels of Things Created and Miraculous Aspects of Things Existing by Zakarīyā’ ibn Muḥammad al-Qazwīnī) depict them as various anthropomorphic and animal-influenced monsters. Dogs, cheetahs, goats, etc. Which is nice, because I have free reign to render Abe’s monster form as some kind of demented hyena dragon caprine hybrid.
His insides are meant to be as a living furnace, with strategic vents to expel extraneous heat, and an incendiary heart that beats too close to the surface.
