Great googly moogly! Original art? From Komari? Surely you jest!
This was one of my later high school projects. We had to do several art projects from this book, "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain," which seemed to deal quite a bit with tracing... with your eyes. :P
This was one of my school chairs, which was mostly an experiment in white space (and, to an extent, an experiment with perspective and shading). I rather like how accurately this came out, especially the little tear in the corner.

I think
Ramz recommended Drawing With THe Right Side of the Brain for me way back in 2002/2003. I remember doing these exercises awhile ago--
They helped a lot if I wanted to do the charcoal rubs/erases later, definitely. :3
Keep up the good work, you basically have the hint book on how to draw :3

Well, yeah. I mean, art is, I agree, mostly about reference. Look at the history of famous art - it's all portraits of women or beaches or monuments or some shit, but the other half of reference is imagination - that is, the use of the mind's eye to create something from nothing. Sure, you can sketch a jar of fruit, but where do you go to turn that jar of fruit into a Shoggoth? :P
