He meant the stress of the election in general.
That's why I like being an Independent. I don't constrain myself to one philosophy and I don't vote based on emotion, much the same way many Obama supporters did this election (No offense, y'all, it's the hard truth)
I was inches away from voting for Kerry, but Edwards.... there's something fundamentally *wrong* about the man. Nevermind the $400 haircuts or the fact he's never really done a whole lot in congress (Remind you of anyone? X_X) but I found him significantly less trustworthy than other politicians. So I voted Bush over Kerry on account of Edwards and Iraq. I wanted to know we would have made steps towards ending the way on a high note rather then surrendering and running.
I know the media would have lots think otherwise, but reading translated Iraqi blogs, I've come to realize something... Most of them out there think the U.S. invasion was a blessing. They lost not only the cruel dictator, but his corrupt sons as well. In addition, they got to vote.
I don't suggest warping their culture into something it's not. You just can't do that. But I do suggest annihilating a threat to the world, namely Hussain and his ilk. Now that that's done, I think a pull out of Iraq would be acceptable, just as soon as we help establish infrastructure (See also: Japan)
But I completely agree with RobCat on this. Elections, and everything that follows, is a damned nightmare.

I must openly admit that in two separate American elections, I HAD voted for the Independent candidate (H. Ross Perot in 1996, and Ralph Nader in 2000), on the basis that the Republicans and the Democrats had screwed up America enough to allow an alternate individual to try his (or her) hand in running the country. But until the day when someone else other than the two major parties gets to live in the White House, I'll be fair and give President-elect Barack Obama a fair shake...
Heh. x3 I just watched some old MadTV stuff surrounding that election. :P It was actually funny that they portrayed Kerry as indecisive and boring.
Elections here are even better! :D Vote for party, they choose the president, the majority voted party. Even the one guy who the youth are ready to kill for him to be president! :D Scares the conservative white people who didn't like the Apartheid, yet strongly against why they should be disadvantaged now. >.>;
