October Practice -- Personalized Hitsparks Test (Flash)
Ok so, as proof of my not deadness, I'm going to start uploading shit I've been working on. Due to some personal issues I'm having at the time, I've mainly been posting WIP's and stuff to twitter -- but because a large portion of them are effectively useless for now, I'ma go ahead and upload some.
More project stuff. I did some hurt animations and weren't sure if they would work right for what I wanted to do, so I thought I'd try them out on-top of an idea I had for personalized hitsparks.

Basically having each character use their own unique hitspark animation, albeit built off of the same basic idea. (The firsts in the above gif is the left characters, with the second being the right's)
It occurs to me that some more basic stuff might look weird if it started EXPLODING STARS or something, so I might make some basic ones and use these for more... special effects, I guess?

The 'personalized hitsparks' is a neat idea; I'm not sure if many games do it or not, but it seems like something that would add a little pizzazz to every character. Perhaps you could have different 'levels' of sparks (like smaller/simpler ones for light hits and bigger ones for bigger hits), though if you're going to stick with the 'split' sparks like in the gif, then the combinations might get troublesome pretty quick >.> Maybe you already did that in this flash? I'm not sure, because it's too quick for me to see clearly... Or like you said, make some 'basic/generic' ones and save the bigger ones for special hits or something.
Anyway, looks cool
