Since I was starting to consider joining a friend's newest RP board, a Lion King one this time, I started to draw the design of what I would use as one of two characters to create. I haven't found time, or the attention span, to writing up his backstory as I've been occupied with the Kung Fu Panda RP as of late. This would possibly be my third attempt at drawing a lion, and I guess I might've gone a little overboard with the design of the mane.. then again, I might not have.

In any case, I tried to make it somewhat reflective of some of my own features such as the feathered (yes, it's feathered hair/fur not spiked), the fringes of hair tending to cover one of his eyes, and the darker fur patterns on the chest. Not bad I guess for drawing early in the morning during a 30 minute "lunch" break.
