Legend



Everyone made their way through the South. Following Zhuqiaomon's instructions, only Fang remained in his digivice strapped now to Smithy's belt. Their orders were clear, to storm Chronomon's domain and reclaim Scavenger, while purifying the Buraimon and others occupying the space. Chaos stood in front, next to Kiya who was in his Raptordramon form. "We're close. Are you sure you and the knights can handle Chronomon?"


"I've made my choice." Kiya replied, barely stopping to look at Chaos as they neared what looked to be a holy temple, the ceiling appeared torn down likely due to Chronomon's madness. "This is the place right?"


Chaos looked at the building, contemplating it's destruction. "This is it. When I was first taken into the south, this building was still in one piece. I think Chronomon and the Buraimon might have made some...decorative changes."


"I can tell...Alright then we'll split into two teams from this point onward." Kiya turned around, picking out who would come along with him. "Leopardmon, Ulforceveedramon and I will push through the Buraimon to take care of Chronomon. The Buraimon might try to catch up to us and prevent our progress, so it'll be up to the rest of you to defeat them. Jesse I'm leaving team 2 in your capable hands."


Jesse looked lost for words, he wanted to ask why but instead, he decided to take the responsibility with dignity. "Fang can't risk digivolving again. So I suggest taking him with you, he might prove invaluable in taking down Chronomon with his ability to analyze an opponents fighting style."


Kiya nodded in agreement as he took Fang's digivice and tossed it over to Leopardmon who clipped it to his waist. "We need every advantage we can get over Chronomon. HE's not like Daemon, or the others we've fought previously. We're going to save Scav, but I won't be happy if we take any losses. So everyone stay alive please."


"That goes without saying." Flare called out, grinning wide before opening the temples doors. Almost immediately the mass of digimon collected inside turned their attention toward the group. "Uhm...these aren't all Buraimon..."

When the rest of the group stepped in, they could see a mass of Buraimon, but there were others too, such as Garudamon, Butenmon and, worse for worse, Laylamon sitting atop the alter. "We were wondering when you would show up. I never expected the whole bunch of you to show up though..."


The group hadn't been expecting that. None of them had in fact, but Jesse stepped forward, clad in his new Lobomon armor. "You saved us the trouble of finding you, that wasn't too smart. We out number you."


That got a laugh out of Laylamon, she simply gave Jesse a wink before making a hand gesture to her side. "This whole temple is on my side. You're the ones out numbered. Besides, I think it's time you got reaquainted with someone I think you know all too well."


Jesse was about to ask who, when a sudden quake knocked the back wall loose, Reapermon stepping through the wreckage to smirk menicingly, his hand scythe pointed at the warrior of light. "Hah, it's been what...five...six months since we've last duked it out. And this time that pesky Weregarurumon isn't here to get in the way of my fun!"


"Kiya? You and the knights go through that opening he was so kind to give you." Jesse equipped his dual sabers of light and stepped forward. "We'll take care of these jokers. I've been waiting for this."


Kiya looked over Jesse, trying to gauge his emotional state. Though the human would never admit it, his hands were shaking. "Jesse if you need he-"


"I said go!" Jesse growled, looking up at the cyborg raptor. "We have everything under control. Besides Reapermon is a part of me, it should be me that takes care of him. Put yourself in my shoes."


The raptor dragon gave it some thought, then smirked, patting Jesse with a gauntleted hand. "My feet could never fit your human shoes. Nevertheless Don't you dare die."


"Wasn't planning on it!" Jesse called out, watching the mega trio fly off behind Reapermon, it was strange for the enemy to just LET them get by, but the Lobomon thought little of it. "You must feel very confident in Chronomon to let three mega's fly past you."


Reapermon grinned wider, watching the winged digimon surround the group that had invaded their territory. "The same could be said of you. Two megas, a few ultimates and a bunch of champions stand between you and certain death. Can't say I'm too surprised though, we are one and the same. But you've split your team in half. And I don't see that Dracomon with the rainbow pattern on his belly, or Max."


Jesse twirled his swords a couple times before leaping forward, swords clashing with Reapermon's scythe. "His friends call him RD, but when I'm done with you it won't matter."


Zhuqiaomon was waiting patiently within his shrine, nearly dozing off until he caught notice of RD making his way back inside "I was wondering how long it'd take you to get back here!"


"it took awhile sorry....." RD was kind of embarrassed, he somehow had gotten turned around when he wanted to get to chronomon as soon as possible



Zhuqiaomon rolled his eyes at that "You...aren't even aware of his location. But even so you were right to come here first. There's someone who'd like to meet you." He lifted a pair of his wings to reveal a Wargreymon standing at attention


RD's eyes widened as he saw this, Wargreymon of all people! "Waregreymon! Erm you want to see me?"


Wargreymon nodded, stepping over while being mindful of the high lord in his presence "I did. You have something that belongs to me. Or rather...something that should be with me."


RD blinked "I do? What is that?" RD wasn't aware of any digimon of the gabumon digivolution line or anything that might belong to the wargreymon presently there


Wargreymon nodded, pointing to RD with one of his dramon claws "Do you recall the second round in the tournament? Who you battled that day?"


RD folded his arms thinking, his first bout had been with Echo the shoutmon, the second... "Oh right" RD opened up the primary village app on his digivice and released the gabumon.


The Gabumon looked a bit disoriented, but when he was released, Wargreymon approached him "You may not have realized right away, but you had been in combat with half of a royal knight. And now you can help us in another way."


RD winced as he looked at wargreymon "You mean omnimon right?" RD asked remembering that omnimon specifically was two digimon DNA digivolved into one


Wargreymon nodded "Right. We were two halves of the legendary digimon Omnimon. Your friends are split apart. And they don't yet have the numbers to finish their bout and escape without any casualties. I request that you use that digivice of yours and DNA digivolve us to our rightful form."


RD blinked then looked at his digivice as he went through it, to his surprise there was an option to do just that "Alright I'm going to start running it"


Wargreymon and Gabumon both nodded, the latter quickly digivolving to Metalgarurumon beforehand "We're ready. Go ahead."


RD nodded as he began starting up the program "DNA digivolution program activated!" RD called out as he checked everything


The two digimon blinked, turning into a flash of blue and orange lights as they spiraled into the air in a bit of a flare. When they stopped spiraling, the form standing before RD was none other than Omnimon, his cape shuffling a bit in the wind, he knelt down to meet RD closer to eye level and chuckled "This works. Thank you, If you want a ride to Chronomon's sancuary now would be the time." He lowered his Garuru cannon so that RD could hop on


RD didn't need telling twice as he hopped on the cannon so they could make their way toward's the main fight


Omnimon nodded, lifting himself to his full hight before zoning out of the shrine. "Are you aware of the legend of this region?"


"I'm not well versed in folklore sadly." RD said sighing as he looked down, watching the landscape fly past them.


Omnimon nodded "That's to be expected...Theres a legend that's been passed down of a digimon of unknown origin. When strife comes down upon the land, and the protector of the weak succumbs to the ways of the land. A digimon of unknown strength and stature will be born from the darkness. Shone forth from the light and become the noblest of knights."


RD blinked and looked down and thought "The protector of the weak....? When I hear that I think of either Max or my friend SD, right now SD is the one in trouble...." RD winced as he thought about this


Omnimon nodded in agreement, sharing this worry "I can't say for certain who the protector is. Given everyone in your group seems to carry that trait. It might very well be Chronomon, he and Zhuqiaomon balanced each other out. Since the latter could show little to no compassion, Chronomon showed only kindness. Until now. But either way, whatever the legend spoke of is coming to fruition. A digimon, the noblest of knights born from the darkness. If this SD is in trouble, he might already have succumbed to the darkness. He might be the foretold digimon. The rest of the legend mentions that when this warrior is reborn, the land will know peace and prosperity the likes of which it has not seen for a millenia."


"But the question is who the warrior is. We have several digimon here of unknown origin, any one of them could be this warrior of legend" RD nodded as he thought about this "In any case we need to get to chronomon"


Omnimon nodded, flying toward a rather ruined looking temple. From above they could see countless avian type digimon crowding up on the group. They looked to be vastly outnumbered and quickly being overpowered. The only one who wasn't among the crowd was Jesse and Doru, who were duking it out with Reapermon of all people! Kiya, Ulforceveedramon, and LEopardmon seemed to be absent entirely.


"Woah, wait why is Reapermon here?" RD was actually stunned while seeing this


Omnimon growled low "Obviously Max and JEsse's last encounter with him in the human world didn't take." He aimed his cannon at the digimon that were surrounding the group, then fired. "SUPREME CANNON!" Just as the shots made their impact, several of the avian digimon were instantly vaporized, once there was room to land he promptly did so.

Smithy grumbling a bit as he was fending off who looked to be Laylamon "Bout damn time you came!"


RD jumped off as he saw the digimon of lust, she didn't look like much but he remembered she had poisoned fingernails and could extend her hand at will


Smithy growled a bit "How about you give us a hand." He pushed Laylamon away, kicking her away with a snarl.


Suddenly RD's digivice started glowing, as Echo materialized himself out of it, holding his mic like a baseball bat "Did someone say they needed a hand?" He smacked away a birdramon and grinned impishly.


RD blinked as he double checked his digivice and called out Ogremon as well to aid in the efford then joined in too, digivolving to ultimate to actually do some proper damage.


Meanwhile, Kiya and the two knights beside him made it deeper into the temple. The feeling of dread only getting worse until Kiya froze, hee could hear something...he couldn't make out the sound of it but it was very much like that of a pained cry. As he neared the end of the hallway he could see Chronomon sitting on a large form fitting throne, looking absolutely pleased with himself. "We found you...you know...security here isn't as tight as it should be."


"Did I make it seem like I was trying to keep you away? No...besides I figured that you'd return and with all of your friends." Chronomon sneered, licking his lips.


Kiya growled, baring his fangs at Chronomon until he noticed a shadow hiding in the background, how he never noticed it until now he had no idea. But when Chronomon took note of his staring, he stood up. "Oh...you're trying to figure out where I've locked up your friend. WELL." Chronomon lifted one great arm in the air, lighting up the room so they could get a good look at the silloutte behind him, it was only then that Kiya's eyes went wide in disbelief. "Take a good look at my newest subordinate! You thought the shine mode was so powerful, well say hello to Shinegreymon! RUIN MODE!"


Kiya shivered, looking at the Shinegreymon infront of them. It had been warped...the usual bright red armor plating over it's chest had become a darker shade of red, almost black, while the lower body had turned a sickly grey color. it's back was emitting a great black aura behind him, demonstrating the devestating power he now commanded. the very same black aura encasing both his hands. Hearing the strained roar eminating from it's throat gave Kiya all the confirmation he needed. The eyes, and the tone of it's roar indicated this was his friend. Scav had been converted to the darkness. "You...you warped him! You're hurting him!"


That got a laugh out of Chronomon who promptly sat back down. "Hurt him? Bah! He hurt himself for not willingly converting to the darkness! If he deletes himself what's it to me? Anyways if you want to get anywhere near ME...you'll have to destroy your best friend."


Kiya shivered, he stared up at his colossal friend. "I'll purify him! But I won't destroy him!" He aimed his gun in Scav's direction and fired a stream of bullets into his chestplate, this definitely got a reaction as the Shinegreymon started stumbling backwards, yet the attacks did nothing to ding the armor, strange.


"RRHG...GLORIOUS BURST!" Scav roared out, energy gathering from his wings to form into a great ball of flame which fired right at Kiya. If not for the jet thrusters at the Raptor's soles, Kiya would not have made it out of the way of such a devestating attack, though it did succeed in demolishing half of the room in one fell swoop.


"Scav...listen to me! I'm going to pull you out of that state!" Kiya called out, both knights were quick to jump in but Kiya growled low, warding them off. "You two focus on Chronomon. I won't let either of you lay a claw on him."


Chronomon's eyes went wide before pulling himself out of the chair. "You can't be so full of yourself that you think you can defeat him on your own!"


Kiya growled, dashing and dodging Scav's attacks whenever possible, occasionally he'd fire off a burst of bullets towards him. "Shut it. You did this to him." Kiya flew behind SD, firing into the dragon's back. "TALON MISSLES!" Kiya shouted, the dragon headed missles situated on Kiya's shoulders firing into the backside of Scav's chest armor, cracking it severely and knocking the Shinegreymon into the ground belly first. "You twisted his senses, warped his mind and turned him into this...thing! And I will bring him back."
