my guess is people are complaining about what they, themselves WANT to see and impose their domination on others (it is THIS fandom anyway) though mammary glands are an organ based on a functional need

You are pretty much 100% correct.
I have a whole thing I've been doing with my own canon, designing the different Dominions. Goes by the animal kingdom classification system. Scalies, furries, and "humans" are each their own Dominions, and are the distinctive difference as far as cultures, societies, politics, and everything else goes, and those Dominions are, respectively: Reptans, Anthrans, and Apexes. Apexes, or homo apexus, are humans further along the evolutionary path than we homo sapiens are by about two steps. I wanted to make humans interesting in their own way that is different from just merely being humans. The entire thing is based on the process of natural selection and evolution taking a much more drastic turn at certain points due to changes in how things happened in the prehistoric times. Meteor that hit Earth was smaller and came at a different angle, and from there everything deviates on the evolutionary march.
Basically I needed a way to upscale humans in against the other species of other Dominions. So an apex can arm-wrestle a bear or a horse and be at least evenly matched, or a male apex can have sex with a mare without her going "Is it in yet?". Stuff like that. Anyway, point was, for reptans, I did away with the concept of egg-laying for them due to contextual stuff in the story, and in turn, reptans have titties. They don't have nipples quite like we do, they have teats, but their design's different. If you're somehow actually interested, I can probably go on about it at length, but once I start talking about my project I never shut the hell up.
